One of our moderator's son, Christopher, was admitted into the hospital in April 2023 from complications due to Diabetic Ketoacidosis which resulted in septic shock. Chris did not know he was diabetic until this tragedy, and upon discovery he had multiple organ failures to include lung, kidney, and pancreas failure.
